JUTAMAT 5000 is a mechanically bonded geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) composite of pulverised bentonite embedded between two layers of geotextile. Additional bentonite is added to the overlap edges for ease of sealing. JUTAMAT 5000 complies with the latest codes of practice as published in LFE 3 – using geosynthetic clay liners in landfill engineering.
JUTAMAT is a mechanically bonded Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) composite of pulverised bentonite embedded between two layers of geotextile. The internal 5kg of natural sodium bentonite swells in contact with water to form a low permeability waterproofing barrier.
Bentonite absorbs water from the surrounding soil, its expansion is impeded by layer pressure from the geotextile membranes creating an impermeable lining material able to be used as a containment barrier.
JUTAMAT 5000 should be installed in accordance with the product installation guidelines.

Roll weights can be in excess of 1000kg and hence appropriate care and equipment is required for unloading and handling.
Rolls of JUTAMAT 5000 should be stored on stable/level ground and stacked not more than five rolls high, with no other material stacked on top. The rolls can be stored outdoors when packaged, but should be protected from exposure to UV.
